Involving students from all WPS grades, we are so excited to present our very first full-length play! We invite you to join us for a night (or afternoon!) of art and drama as our students take you to a post-apocalyptic world where anything could happen!

About Gathering Blue by Eric Coble, based on the book by Lois Lowry (Author of “The Giver”)
In an apocalyptic future where those who are different are cast aside, Kira, an orphan with a twisted leg, lives in an isolated community where art and music have been nearly lost. Identified by the all-powerful Council of Guardians as one who has a gift for the dying and weaving of thread, Kira is swept into the elite world of the Edifice. Charged with mending and enhancing the ceremonial Singer’s Robe – a beautifully complex tapestry that tells the history of the world - all is not what it seems. Kira soon begins to learn that everything she thought she knew may just turn out to be a lie. Together with her young friend Matt, Kira must learn what lies beyond their borders to save her community from themselves.
