Description

Herb Nadel is Chief Executive Officer of Nadel Inc. which he founded in 1973. Mr. Nadel has built the practice into one of the most respected architectural firms in the United States, with a staff of over 100 professionals and offices located in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, San Diego and Las Vegas.

Herb Nadel began practicing architecture in 1960 after attending the University of Southern California School of Architecture. A member of the elite College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects, his work has been lauded nationally and internationally by numerous professional and civic organizations. He has been extensively published, and is a sought-after speaker in various professional forums worldwide. Under Mr. Nadel’s leadership, Nadel Architects has developed into a highly respected international design firm with a portfolio of projects encompassing the United States, China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe, South America and Africa. The firm has designed more than 400 office buildings, 60,000 residential units in multi-family and mixed-use developments, and over 75 million square feet of retail space, along with innumerable hotels and resorts, educational facilities, industrial, medical and specialty projects.

As a business and community leader, Herb Nadel has served on a number of very prestigious civic and academic boards, including the Los Angeles Mayor’s Cultural Advisory Committee and the Dean’s Council of the University of California Los Angeles School of Architecture and Planning. He is an active member of the AIA and was Chairman of the Fellowship Committee.

At the WPN meeting, Herb will be speaking on "Architecture, Real Estate Development and its Impact on the Environment." He will be discussing what’s being built all around the city, the types of buildings such as apartments in fill retail, hotels etc. and its environmental impact in terms of traffic, pollution, public transportation and growth.
