Event description

Description

At our next WPN meeting, we will be announcing our charity picks.

Also, our speaker will be Evelyn Markus.

Evelyn Markus was raised in Holland by parents who witnessed the growing anti-Jewish violence of the 1940s. Her parents survived the Holocaust when Allied soldiers liberated them in 1945. When Evelyn saw signs of the same disturbing trends returning to the Netherlands, she left the land her family called home for centuries, and immigrated to the United States in 2006. Today she confronts the hatred that lately drove many Jews out of Europe, and embraces her life’s mission -- to prevent one of history's darkest chapters from repeating.

Evelyn holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is a consultant on conflict resolution and building positive work relationships, but since 2015 she is dedicating most of her time to her activism against the global rise of antisemitism, which, according to Evelyn, “has become to urgent to look away from”.

In 2015 she made the documentary “Never Again Is Now”, that is telling her personal story of current antisemitism in Europe, and the story of her parents during the Holocaust. She co-founded a Dutch non-profit organization called: “Network on Antisemitism.” Additionally, her articles are being published in leading Dutch newspapers, and in the American online magazines Gatestone Institute and FrontPage Magazine, and she addresses resurging antisemitism as a speaker.

PLEASE BE SURE TO REGISTER AND RSVP FOR THE LAST WPN MEETING THIS YEAR IN 2016!
