Worship Leader Training: How to lead Morning Prayer
Event Information
About this Event
Our Book of Common Prayer includes the wonderful service of Morning Prayer, one of our Daily Offices. This short service for the start of each day and can be used by individuals in their homes or by congregations in parishes. Designed to be led by clergy or laity, Morning Prayer may be offered by lay leaders in a parish on those occasions when a priest cannot be present to preside at the Eucharist. In this workshop participants will experience the beauty of Morning Prayer and learn how to lead it.
For the training you will need to have a Prayer Book available. If you do not own one or cannot put your hands on one, then you can get a PDF copy online at: https://episcopalchurch.org/files/book_of_common_prayer.pdf
Please be advised that the Worship Leader licensing application is currently being updated and is not yet available. Once the application is ready it will be emailed out.
The training must be attended by the parishioner and the Ecclesiastical Authority of the parish (either clergy or Senior Warden where there is no clergy.) The Ecclesiastical Authority will need to certify that the parishioner has participated in the training.
