Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Through our worship school and equipping events, we desire to examine and strengthen our HEART through prayer, worship, and spiritual formation, sharpen our HEAD in biblical and technical teaching, and equip our HANDS with practical training and application.

Shift115’s Worship Collective Networkshops feature worship leaders, pastors, and teachers from the area who are passionate and skilled at what they do. Each Networkshop includes large group worship and teaching as well as several breakout session options.

You can choose two of the below breakouts. Each one will be identical for Track I and Track II, with the exception of Sound Systems Bootcamp which will feature Beginner for Track I and Advanced for Track II.

BREAKOUT SESSION OPTIONS

GROUNDING SONGWRITING IN GOOD THEOLOGY w/ Dr. Nathan Hitchcock, Associate Professor of Church History and Theology at Sioux Falls Seminary >> In this lively session learn how to be sensitive to good theology in worship songs while avoiding seven common traps in your own songwriting.

PRACTICAL DISCIPLESHIP w/ Justin Vandewater, Director at Primary Ministries >> Jesus called us to go and make disciples, but what does that even mean? This session will explore and put into practice a biblical model for obedience-based discipleship.

RESTORATION FOR THE SOUL w/ Susan Reese, Professor of Spiritual Formation at Sioux Falls Seminary >> This session will discuss helpful ways to keep us grounded in Christ through rhythms and practices of spiritual formation.

RHYTHM ACOUSTIC GUITAR & TEAM DYNAMICS w/ Luke Lynass, Worship Pastor at Arise Church >> This will be an interactive session where we will look at some foundations for playing rhythm guitar, including some basic chord voicing and positions, strumming patterns, and an intro to finger-style picking. No need to bring a guitar.

SOUND SYSTEMS BOOTCAMP (Beginner & Advanced Tracks) w/ Danny Fergen, Technical Director at Central Church >> The beginner session will look at a foundation and basics of a sound system configuration and creating a basic mix. The advanced session will dig deeper into the setup, mixing, eq, and more.
