The San Francisco Vegetarian Society presents its 12th World Veg Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 & 2, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the S.F. County Fair building, Golden Gate Park, at Lincoln and 9th Avenue. FREE admission the first half hour from 10-10:30 a.m.
Guest speakers John & Ocean Robbins, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Don Forrester, Dr. Michael Greger, Lee Hall, Erica Meier, Dr. Richard Oppenlander, Lee Hall to name a few. Cooking demonstrations featuring international vegetarian cuisine, food samples, education, exhibits on health, humane and environmental topics, SPEED DATING and entertainment will be part of the weekend's activities. "You do not have to be a vegetarian to come", says Dixie Mahy, president of the San Francisco Vegetarian Society, which is celebrating its 43rd anniversary this year. "We want everyone to come and try our delicious food, learn about vegetarianism and have a good time." After the exhibit's first day of close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a catered dinner, cultural entertainment and music.Vegan Dinner Cooked $20 or Raw $22 on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. catered by Lisa Books-Williams.

The San Francisco Vegetarian Society (SFVS) is a non-profit organization that has been working in the Bay Area for over 25 years promoting a vegetarian diet as a healthful and humane way of life.
The Society is run entirely by volunteers. We always appreciate help, whether it is available once in a while or on an ongoing basis. You can volunteer to help with a variety of activities, from coordinating our programs to helping at our events. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us.
