Description

Please join us in celebrating World Refugee Day to support our appreciation for all of these community members!

World Refugee Day provides an opportunity for community members to show support for those who were forced to flee, by celebrating their strength, courage, and perseverance. We anticipate guests will have the opportunity to make a free-will donation.

In addition to celebrating World Refugee Day, please join us for the 2019 High School Graduation celebration in honor of all Johnson and Linn County Refugee and Immigrant children graduating from high school. We are so proud of their accomplishments!

The event will be on Saturday, June 15 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Liberty High School in North Liberty. Attendees will enjoy a traditional African dinner and learn more about the refugee and immigrant community, especially the growing number of families from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Burundi, Togo, Liberia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and other nations. This event will also serve as recognizing and celebrating the significant accomplishment of refugee and immigrant children who are part of the graduating class of 2019 in Johnson and Linn counties.

For students graduating, please contact us on refugeeiowa@gmail.com or call 347-414-1121 for us to have the exact number of gifts.
