Event description

Description

For Beginners to Advanced Students. Actors, Non-Actors, Imagineers and Creators all welcome.

Using easy to grasp concepts, Sams has created an original technique for creating an improvised environment. You will learn how to create, sustain, and use mimed objects to create a truthful world both you and the audience can believe in. Using his “If-Then” approach to space objects will allow you to systematically create an interactive world that spawns from a single thought at the top of the scene. This approach allows your mind to slow down and allows brilliant specificity to emerge.

Through exercises, drills, and techniques, Sams will provide you with the tools to create an improvised world that you will be emotionally invested in. By investing in the world you will be more grounded and your nerves will calm allowing you to play more freely.

This class is also for stage and film actors, not just improvisers. The ability to create a world for your character to live in for an on camera audition will set you far above your competition. Think how the casting director will perceive your audition as they watch you reacting to a world that is real to you.

It's the difference between acting and reading. In your improv it is the difference between talking and doing.

Check out the word on the street!

Yes! This is a 4 hour intensive. Be sure to arrive early as we have a lot of material to get through. This is also only part one of a two-part series. Part 2 will dive even deeper into the theories discussed in part 1 and will also include more scene work, helping to further solidify this space object technique.

-Bring water, clothing easy to move in, something to take notes with, and a yesAND attitude!
