Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is hosting a World Autism Awareness Day event for children with special needs, their families and schools. Please RSVP by reserving your free tickets through Eventbrite. If you are coming as a class, please reserve tickets for all students and staff who will be attending.
We encourage everyone to wear blue, the official color for World Autism Awareness Day, and use #LightItUpBlue to share your experience across social media and help light the world up blue this April!
There will be opportunities to participate in activities or to just explore and enjoy! Activities will take place throughout the afternoon, so come any time!
Event highlights include:
Exploring different habitats in Southern California
Touching local tidepool animals
Hearing the sounds of whales
Seeing baby jellyfish
Hatching grunion eggs
Racing plankton
Feeding abalone
Watching movies
Dressing-up as ocean animals
There will also be quiet areas available in our library for reading and arts and crafts.
Feel free to bring food and snacks, eating areas will be set up in the courtyard.
