Description

Staff and students from Cardiff University and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board are invited to a commemorative event to mark World Aids Day.

World AIDS Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease.

Join us for an evening of specialist talks:

  • Welcome by Professor Gary Baxter, Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, and Ben Lewis, Director of Student Support and Wellbeing, Cardiff University
  • ‘The challenges of Sexual Health and HIV in Cardiff today’, by Dr. Nicola Lomax, Clinical Director, Integrated Sexual Health Department
  • ‘HIV treatments, then, now and the future’, by Ms. Fiona Clark Specialist HIV Pharmacist

  • ‘A personal perspective’, by Mr. Gavin Sheppard

  • Questions and answers followed by a drinks reception.
