Instructor: Nathan Ehrmann
Dates: Mondays in April, 6:30p - 8:30p (4 Weeks)
Level: Any improviser with knowledge of devices (at TNM, this means having at least completed Level 3).
Good things come in fours. The Beatles. Ghostbusters. 99 cent chicken nuggets. Like any other team sport, improv comes with a set of positions. The joy, excitement, and controlled chaos of improv come from people consciously and unconsciously tagging in and out of these energy states and defying the audience's expectations. Knowing these "4 types of improviser" will help you identify your natural type so that you can know how you fit in a team, how to change your energy state to fit into a scene or piece, and how to better coach other performers.
Nathan Ehrmann is a performer and teacher from Austin, Texas. Since graduating from The New Movement, he has taken the stage as a guest with The Megaphone Show and Fuck This Week, as well as been a member of multiple house and faculty teams. If you think that he's thinking too much, he's probably thinking about the fact that you're thinking that.
