Event description

Description

Join JIMENA's Young Professionals and the Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies fellows for a night of exploration and learning and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. The night will start with docent-led tour of the CJM exhibit 'Veiled Meanings' showcasing exquisite Jewish dress from around the world. Then, we will engage in a workshop on Mizrahi and Sephardi dress through an exploration of Jewish texts led by Tamar Zaken, an educator of Jewish service learning followed by a social reception.

Tamar Zaken is an informal educator, and community worker and now spends time translating Sephardic Rabbinic texts to expose English speaking audiences to their inspiring message of inclusion and justice.
