Event description

Description

Creating and telling stories, without memorizing a text, develops confident communicators.

In this hands-on workshop for children above 6 years old, each will create an original story, without writing a text, and create a shadow puppet to tell it.

First they will be inspired by a shadow puppet story, told by the
StorySoupers, followed by being coached on how to create their story using the Imagine More Story Model ©, a proven method of story improvisation. Finally, they will create their individual shadow puppets and tell their story in small group. They get to take home their very own shadow puppet!

The workshop coaches and designers are the professional storytellers
Ana Sousa Gavin and Emily Long.

Ana Sousa Gavin has been telling stories as well as coaching adults and children, since 2015. Ana is also a qualified psychologist, early years educator and fitness instructor. She believes that everyone is born a storyteller.

Emily Long started telling stories and performing with puppets at an early age. She enjoys sharing stories using puppetry because she believes it brings joy and inspires childrenand adults to use their imagination and be creative.
