Event description

Description

Prototyping is the focus of this Design Thinking workshop. We will all have a blast creating many prototypes with many materials. At the end of the workshop you will be able to answer:

• Why is it so important to discover the power of low-fidelity prototyping?

• Why was I ever afraid to physically prototype when it is so easy and powerful?

• What is my favorite prototyping medium? (Favorite means what you feel most comfortable using yourself?)

PROTOTYPING 101 for Design Thinking (and really anything)

Join us in this hands-on workshop where we will focus on using our own hands to prototype. We will set aside the computer tools that you might use at work. We will discover the power of low-fidelity prototyping and how it will allow you to iterate faster with greater success in order to demonstrate your ideas and solutions.

OVERVIEW

You will learn by doing low-fidelity prototyping - a core step in the design thinking framework where you solve real problems. Design Thinking is a framework that creates new value when one is able to bring three intersecting capabilities together. In this workshop we will use a real life example of how to (1) discover real human needs, (2) evaluate the technology capabilities to solve these needs, and (3) evaluate the feasibility of implementing. Short VIDEO of what happens.
