Event description

Description

We will begin the first half of class with a brief but thorough look at the supplies we’ll be using, before moving on to how I mix watercolors to achieve the muted palette in my designs. From there we will begin to explore how to identify common shapes within nature to create simple but beautiful florals, which also makes the process from head to hand a smoother transition. This launches us into the second half of class, where together we will practice a few simple exercises designed to make us more familiar with our supplies before moving on to create the elements that will be used to compose our floral, vintage-inspired piece. You will leave the class with both a firm understanding of how to use all your supplies as well as the skills to begin creating your very own collection of art. Most importantly, we will have FUN.

The cost of the class includes all supplies: paper, brushes, palette filled with all the colors you’ll need for the class.

I DO ask that you print out and bring with you the syllabus and a pen to class. It will be helpful to make notes and follow along.

Cara is a self-taught watercolor artist who is eager to share all she has learned over the last 5 years with others who desire to fuel their creative bug. She mainly specializes in florals, which are a constant inspiration to her, finding much joy in bouncing back between both loose and realistic florals. When Cara's not painting, you will find her spending time with her daughter, Hazel Gwen, who also keeps her hands very busy.
