Event description

Description

This workshop is for graphic designers who want to learn about the details of designing for print. The primary focus will be on the decisions designers make that affect print. Attendees will learn about speccing paper, inks, color systems, proofing, bindery, working with printers, and more! You will be able to apply takeaways to your job or freelance practice, right away. Ideal for the web designer asked to work on print projects or the all-around designer who wants more success on press, the content is not super technical or difficult but once learned will make your job much easier.

Marina Poropat Joyce is a passionate paper geek who has been marketing, graphic designing, publishing and printing her whole life. She founded one of the first design-to-print companies in Los Angeles. Her company INTAGLIO ranked as one of the 50 fastest growing in the country, a winner of Inc. Magazine's Inner City 100 and one of Los Angeles’ top 100 women-owned companies. She is the author of Designing for Print.

Marina served on the board of PIASC as a board member and Chairman. Another joy she's found was driving with her husband from London to Mongolia in a 9,600-mile rally.
