Event description

Description

By the end of June this year, the Woodinville Police responded to approximately 75 calls for service concerning those with mental health concerns.

These calls range from people suffering from suicidal thoughts/actions, folks calling for help regarding a family member experiencing a mental health crisis and 911 calls from citizens reporting their concern for someone “acting out in public” which is causing concern for their safety and the safety of others.

We will talk about the types of mental health concerns we are currently facing and what law enforcement can and cannot do regarding our response to those experiencing mental health concerns. Currently every Woodinville deputy has attended an 8-hour Crisis Intervention Training. This coming year all deputies will be required to attend 40 hours of Crisis Intervention Training.

This workshop is offered to citizens living in Woodinville and those living in the surrounding areas.
