Join the ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub for this three-hour workshop introducing geographic information system (GIS) technology with open source software.
We'll be using QGIS, a powerful, easy-to-use, free and open source software (FOSS) platform, as well as MeshLab, another FOSS platform used for manipulating three-dimensional data.
* Note: This is an on-demand workshop being conducted at the request of participants of the ASU Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute (MTBI). Reservation priority is given to MTBI students. Other ASU affiliates may reserve a seat only if vacancies remain. Twenty (20) computer workstations are available in the lab (Noble Library, Room 105). Alternatively, workshop participants may opt to bring their own laptop. A maximum of 40 total participants may attend. Those bringing their own laptops will need to install the following free, open-source software applications:
