Workshop: Build a Book and Learn Book Repair Techniques

Bill O'Neil

October 26, 2019 9:30am - 1:00pm

CGS Sherman Room

Join Bill O’Neil and members of the Book Repair committee for a workshop on repairing books. Workshop participants learn book repair techniques by creating a book for themselves. All supplies are included and Bill will guide the group step by step in assembly. The finished product will be a copy of a "how to" pamphlet written by the late Dick Thrift, founder of the CGS Book Repair Committee. Everyone goes home with a self-made instruction book and souvenir of the day which includes a list of places to obtain the materials in the future.

Bill will answer questions during class and will be there during BYO brown bag lunch for more discussion.

Bill O'Neil is a retired high school art teacher who loves books and cemeteries. He chaired the CGS Book Repair Committee for many years. Bill has been researching his family genealogy for over twenty years.
