Event description

Description

The event is now fully booked (Update 23 October).

The workshop will examine specifically the issue of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is arguably the most sensitive of the three items in the withdrawal negotiations, and consider also questions concerning the access by the UK to the EU internal market post Brexit.

The event will feature the participation of leading academics, business leaders and policy-makers, including Carlos Closa (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC)), John Doyle (Dublin City University), Anne-Marie Martin (Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe) and Dagmar Schiek (Queen’s University Belfast).

The event will also feature a keynote speech of Pascal Lamy (former Director general of the WTO, former European Commissioner for Trade) and a debate between Alyn Smith (Member of the European Parliament) and Senator Neale Richmond (Fine Gael Spokesperson on European Affairs in the Seanad).
