Event description
Introducing the world of portable weaving. Learn the skills you need to fill your home with beautiful woven tapestries.

About this Event

Paige will take you every step of the way from setting up your loom to finishing methods. You will learn several weaving techniques including plain weave, rya knots, soumak, color changes, and creating shapes. This is a beginner workshop so no prior weaving experience is required.

Supplies: Materials fee $25 payable to the teacher for kit including wooden frame loom, warp yarn, scissors, tapestry needle, and wooden dowel. An assortment of weft yarns will be provided by SCHG.

About the teacher: Paige Kent has been involved with hand crafts for as long as she can remember. When she was 12 years old she discovered the wonders of yarn, through crochet, and she has never wanted to put the hook down. As she grew older, Paige continued to crochet and experiment with many yarn-based crafts including weaving, knitting, and latch hooking. She started Woven By Paige in 2015, but soon after decided that she no longer enjoyed making as a business and now she practices for the love of it and teaches her favorite crafts as often as possible.
