Event description
ColorPlay is a seminar where color is queen!

About this Event

Have you been nervous about combining colors in your weaving or knitting? Daunted by the possibilities or think you are simply “bad with color?” This class will open up your inner artist as you learn basic tools to make sense of color. The goal of ColorPlay is for you to understand the color potential within each strand of yarn and develop your own confident eye for color. Engage in three hours of playful experimentation with beautiful yarns and discover how to create successful color palettes for future fiber projects.

Supplies: Materials fee $5, payable to teacher. Students are encouraged to bring a pencil and notebook plus take photographs of the process.

About the teacher: Cameron Taylor-Brown studied fiber arts at the University of California, Berkeley with Ed Rossbach and textile design at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Since 1985, she has lived in Los Angeles where she is active in arts and education. Her work is widely exhibited and has been featured in Fiber Art Now, American CraftHandwoven, Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot, and Common Thread.  She teaches workshops at schools, guilds, museums and conferences throughout the United States and Canada. She is the founder of ARTSgarage, a textile resource center in Los Angeles where she teaches Art of the Loom. Cameron is a past president of California Fibers and serves on the advisory boards of the Fowler Textile Council and Textile Arts | Los Angeles.
