It is a crucial time for recycling and waste reduction programs in Kansas, as budgets tighten, competition increases and consumer demands continue to evolve.
Consumers and elected officials need to be continually educated on the necessity and benefits of recycling and waste reduction programs. For businesses reducing a company’s trash bill and provide an opportunity to create a positive image in the community that attracts new customers and brings in more revenue.
What steps can the industry take, or are being taken, to ensure long-term viability for programs? Works! 2017 will discuss these issues among the industry and with state and local officials and expound on the benefits of waste diversion and materials management. This event will explore ways community leaders and local recycling organizations can engage consumers and elected officials on this issue. Attendees will learn how to elevate their recycling programs sustainability, how to educate members of their community on the benefits of recycling and why these programs should be preserved.
The Kansas Organization of Recyclers (KOR) and KDHE Bureau of Waste Management invite you to attend this event, the largest of its kind in Kansas. Along with networking opportunities and a rich exhibit hall experience, speak to the supervisors, managers, haulers, MRF operators, recyclers and local governments and nonprofits that drive participation in waste diversion programs.
