Workplace violence affects some two million workers each year and has become a major concern for employers throughout the country. No employer or employee is immune from becoming a victim of the violent acts or threats of co-workers or outside intruders, and many employers are “soft targets” for violence. For these reasons, CBIA is pleased to present a pair of workshops on how employers can prepare for and protect workers and worksites from violent situations. These workshops will focus on management commitment and implementation, worksite analysis, and hazard assessment and control. They are designed to complement each other, and can be attended either individually or as a set.
Management Commitment and Employee Involvement
This session is designed to help executives and HR and safety personnel understand the scope and scale of workplace violence, and to present principles and concepts that can be appropriately put into place for each unique workplace.
The first step in designing a viable program to protect against workplace violence is to realistically assess and define the nature of the threat, and work with employees to prepare for possible situations.
You will learn how proper procedural, physical plant, and psychological preparedness will greatly reduce the possibility of violent situations occurring at your company.
