Event description
Updated to be a Zoom virtual event with a new format! Explore, learn and try best practices in Happiness Science at Work

About this Event

Study Group for Workplace Happiness with the Greater Good Science Center.

My name is Travis Shumaker and I have been a happiness science enthusiast since 2013. My journey has led me through many thought leaders, tools, approaches, etc. and never did one place sum it all up like the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC). Their awesome professors have put together the best certification courses on the subject:

* The Science of Happiness

* Fundamentals of Happiness Science at Work

* Empathy and Emotional Intelligence at Work

* Mindful and Resilience at Work

Each area comes with a rich set of scientific studies, videos and best of all: things to do that we can implement at work to use the science and make it better!

This lab will take small parts and break it down for folks to understand and feel comfortable and confident to try them at work. We hope to help everyone thrive at work in this uncertain time.

Updated to be a Zoom virtual event with a new format!

1st 20 mins: moving down the GGSC Happiness at Work syllabus from start to finish. Each session will start with the next subject listed. We'll see some on-line videos from speakers, review the studies and science they reference, and find ways to integrate or try out the practical side of the best practice that have developed to improve happiness at work.

2nd 20 minutes: group reviews all subjects in the syllabus to up-vote which subject we'll dive into. Just like the 1st 20 minutes, we'll check out several pieces of content, chat about it, and discuss or write about it.

3rd 20 minutes: random 'what's on your mind' topics from anywhere in the world of happiness science. We'll see what the GGCS says as well as what we know of or can find out, exploring the best practices, and sharing our own experiments or plans to try out the subjects from our learning.
