Working With Young Volunteers - What? When? How?
Mon, November 28, 2016, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM GMT
Join Ripon Museum Trust to find out how they have engaged with a younger generation of volunteers through a variety of channels including a Museum Young Volunteers Club, work experience schemes, Duke of Edinburgh volunteering and other community partnerships.
The challenges and successes will be explored to help others learn from their experience.
Harrogate and Ripon Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) will present on volunteering across the community to illustrate the opportunities for working with a variety of groups. They will highlight the benefits of developing a close relationship with your local CVS and how they can help you develop a community engagement approach.
The aim of the day is to:
Generate ideas and discussion amongst participants on engaging with volunteers, particularly young people.
To give participants an improved understanding of the services offered by local volunteer centres.
To help participants plan a first step towards working with young volunteers.
There will also be an opportunity to tour the museum and meet some of their volunteers. Afterwards please stay to enjoy a glass of wine and mince pie to celebrate the season.
