Event description
Expert-led for BME practitioners: Working with Young BME women

About this Event

Spaces: Maximum of 12 only available

Venue: Imkaan, 52-54 Featherstone Street, London, EC1Y 8RT

This expert-led training is provided by Imkaan through the Ascent project and is part of the London VAWG Consortium. The session is aimed at BME women in the London ending VAWG sector. Imkaan is committed to archiving and amplifying young BME women's voices. The session will outline the importance of working with young BME women within an intersectional approach to violence against women and girls. During the session, participants will identify some of the specific issues affecting young BME women and explore the ways in which services can meaningfully address and support young women, from service design and delivery through to evaluation. By the end of the session, participants will have a better understanding of violence against young BME women, the context of young BME women's lives and how to improve and develop appropriate responses towards them.

Expert-led sessions are for BME practitioners working in BME organisations. The training is for London-based women practitioners only.

It takes considerable resource to organise our trainings, so please do not book a place unless you are committed to attending. If you are unable to attend, you must notify training@imkaan.org.uk 2 days prior to the training date. If you do not attend, and you haven't notified the training team 2 days prior to the training date, you will be invoiced £50.00.
