Event description

Description

Intimate partner violence will impact 1 in 3 families. Therefore, regardless of their setting, human service professionals will interact with survivors. This workshop is aimed at helping human service professionals understand the dynamics of intimate partner violence, ethical and pain management considerations in working survivors, and potential treatment modalities. The impact of working with trauma survivors on helping professionals will also be discussed, with an emphasis on self-care.

IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION: General admission for the workshop is free and everyone attending MUST have a ticket ahead of time. If you wish to receive social work CEs, there will be a cost of $10. You have the option to pay in advance or pay at the door. To pay in advance, when registering for the event, choose the ticket option labeled "Social Work CEs" and put $10 as the amount to be paid. To pay at the door, choose the "General Admission" ticket and then bring $10 with you to the workshop. We can accept CASH or CARD at the door. Approval is pending for 3 social work CEs (including 1 in ethics and 1 in pain management) by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative.

Registration will open at 8:30 am, workshop to start at 9 am.
