Description

In this session, the presenter will provide a foundation on legal needs of refugee and immigrant families, including those with young children. Participants will gain basic legal knowledge of immigration law, rights of refugee & immigrant families, and what families can expect of the legal system. Participants will also learn about resources The Advocates for Human Rights offers and how to access them.

Key Objectives:

  • Current status of immigration

  • Family Safety Planning

  • Referral Resources

  • Know your Rights (Train the Trainer)

This session will be led by Michele Garnett McKenzie from The Advocates for Human Rights.
