Description

Working with Actors: The Basics with Alissa Jessup

The Basics is an experiential approach for directors to learn how to communicate with actors, deepen their craft and become a more effective collaborator. Learning will come from doing as well as observing, participating, and engaging in the work of others. Working with Actors is open to directors of film, television and new media

When: Sundays, August 6th- 27th 11 am – 2 pm Class sessions: 4

Participant Cost: $250 Early Bird Discount ONLY $200 if you register by 7/23

Observer Cost: $80 Observe each class without participating in the exercises.

About Alissa Jessup

Alissa Jessup is a west coast-based writer, director, and actor working in theater, film, and television. As an actor, she has performed and developed new plays with Sundance Theatre Lab, The Flea Theater, ACT Theatre, 13P, Soho Rep, P.S. 122, and Playwrights Horizons. Selected T.V. credits include The Mindy Project (Hulu), True Blood (HBO), Grimm (NBC), and The Mentalist (CBS). She has written and performed comedy at The Groundlings, Upright Citizen’s Brigade NYC and U.C.B. Los Angeles. Watch her reel here https://vimeo.com/189547469

Her recent comedic short film, chickadee’, was chosen as one of Indie Wire’s top 5 crowdfunding picks (2015) and made with an all-female cast and crew.

Alissa is an original member of Printer’s Devil Theater and an honorary member of Film Fatales. In 2015, she founded Growly Pictures to create content made for women made by women.
