Mon, April 24, 2017, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM CDT
For people living with disabilities, the landscape for employment opportunities is changing. New federal and state policies and new ways of finding jobs are creating brighter futures for those who want to work in their communities and be part of the regular workforce.
Workshop participants will learn about:
State and federal policies that will help create more opportunities for people with disabilities who choose to work.
New ways individuals can have more control over their job search and new ways families can help them in that search.
Helpful resources and support for getting a competitive job in the community and speaking up for oneself.
Tools and resources to see how work affects Medical Assistance, Social Security, and other benefits.
Programs that provide incentives to get and keep a competitive job.
