We are excited to introduce a new series, WIP Nights at the new Room 31 ( 11 E 31st St Arlo NoMad Hotel) where established New York based musicians come together in this intimate, dynamic and lovely space to share their new material, unpublished work, creative process, along with behind the scenes stories and the ideas that have inspired their recent projects. Everything happens live on stage, with audience members immersed in the experience. Musicians and music lovers alike will have the opportunity to share perspectives and insights about these new works in a casual and inspiring setting.

Shira with Susan Lax - (The Heart-To-Heart Songbook)
SHIRA is an acclaimed Israeli-American fairy folk singer-songwriter and Off-Broadway performer. Named the “golden-voiced singer” by The New York Times, Shira has recorded two albums, Till the Sun Comes and the new EP, Birds of a Feather. Her song, Am I Beautiful, inspired by her friend's battle with stage 3 breast cancer, went viral, leading to demand for performances all over the U.S. and Europe playing music that unites people in joy and healing. shiraofficial.com
SUSAN P. LAX works as a spiritual counselor specializing in, but not limited to, those touched by illness, grief, and loving through death. She lectures and leads workshops on the topics of awareness and making room for joy. Susan is the author of the book A HEART’S LANDSCAPE, a top book pick by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, which derived from her “Morning Inspiration,” an email newsletter released three times a week, and is a columnist with Patheos. Chanese Elifé, ”Harlem’s One-Woman-Band“ Chanese Elifé, is a vocal powerhouse, songwriter and producer who plays more than 50 musical instruments. As an avid meditator she’s created her own brand of music which combines healing frequency tunings with various pop genres. Chanese has performed at The Sydney Opera House, AFROPUNK Festival, Little Island NYC and is a featured Sofar Sounds artist. She is currently working on setting a new World Record for most instrumentation in a concert and will be sharing a preview of her “work in progress”
Sarah Galdes is an Australian born performer and producer based in New York. She performs with a variety of artists including River L Ramirez, Lou Tides, Overcoats, and many more. Sarah records and composes for cross-disciplinary collaborations with visual artists, dancers and storytellers. She is an endorsed Sunhouse artist and will be presenting works in progress at Room 31 on drum kit, electronics, and found sound.
Maddie Rice is a guitarist and songwriter, currently workshopping songs for her upcoming solo project.
