Words Carry Us with Betty MacDonald hosts Sari Botton on Sunday, November 20 at 7 PM, at Green Kill Sessions.
This event will be livestreamed on the Green Kill Sessions YouTube Channel and will be open to a live audience of 30. Tickets are 10 dollars.
1. Please click "Tickets" button to access livestream or live audience ticket.
2. Select "Livestream Ticket" or "Live Audience Ticket". Audience members attending in person must be masked! Please choose the right ticket. A Livestream Ticket provides you with a link to the Green Kill Sessions livestream which can be accessed remotely on your own equipment. A Live Audience Ticket puts you on a list for a reserved set at the event, and also provides you a livestream link. If you are coming to the event, please arrive 15 minutes before starting time. There are no ticket sales at the door. All tickets must be reserved on Eventbrite.
3. Enter the number of tickets you would like to buy.
4. Enter your credit card information: Name, Number, Expiration Date, and CVV code. Double-check the info you entered. Make sure it's correct. It’s easy to slip up!
5. Select "Place Order". You will then have access to the page which has a watch event link. Click on that link to see the YouTube event address. An email will also be sent to the email address you provided with the link.
Shortly before the event, you will receive a reminder link.
Please be advised that tickets are not transferable. If you wish to buy a ticket for someone else, you must use their email when buying a ticket for an event.
Because COVID is still a potential hazard guests attending the livestream in person must be masked and vaccinated. Artists organizing events can limit the number of a live audience or decline to invite any in-person attendance.
Sari Botton
Sari Botton is the author of the memoir in essays, And You May Find Yourself...Confessions of a Late-Blooming Gen-X Weirdo. She is a contributing editor and columnist at Catapult, and the former Essays Editor for Longreads. She edited the bestselling anthologies Goodbye to All That: Writers on Loving and Leaving NewYork and Never Can Say Goodbye: Writers on Their Unshakable Love for New York. She teaches creative nonfiction at Catapult, Bay Path University and Kingston Writers' Studio. She publishes Oldster Magazine, Memoir Monday, and Adventures in Journalism.
Betty MacDonald
Writer/actor Betty MacDonald contributed to the writing of and performed in TMI’s What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting. Her essay “Before Roe v. Wade” appears in the anthology Get Out of My Crotch! Her work is included in the anthologies 80 Things To Do When You Turn 80, Open House, Better With Age. and in Lightwood, an online magazine. Betty presented her essay “First Love” for 650Read at the Cell Theatre in New York City, and at Vassar College. Her essay "Daughter of Twins" is on video for 650Read's Mother's Day presentation. Her essay "Not Jewish Enough" is on video for 650Read's Jew-ish. Betty presented her essay, "I'm Not a Woman of My Age!" at City Winery in New York City for Read650's "Coming of Age" event. Betty hosts Words Carry Us, a livestream show of readings and interviews from Green Kill in Kingston, NY.
Following her early career as a continuity writer and radio personality Tiny Lee, Betty became a travel industry correspondent. Unfortunately, she’s a homebody and finds travel uncomfortable and exhausting. For over 30 years, storytelling has influenced her work as a performer with Community Playback Theatre in the Hudson Valley.
