Event description

Description

On the Saturday closest to Bach's birthday (March 21), the Worcester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents a 12-hour concert of music by Johann Sebastian Bach. His music for organ, harpsichord, piano, strings, and voices will be featured including many of the Worcester area's finest musicians performing to benefit St. John's Food for the Poor (Worcester) and Abby's House: Shelter, Housing and Advocacy for Women and Children (Worcester).

Tickets are passes for the full day of music. The audience may come and go as they wish, presenting their pass at the entry doors to the nave at Trinity Church, the acoustically robust hall for the day. The nave includes the Noack Organ Co. Opus 40 mechanical action Gallery Organ, a two-manual Italian style harpsichord, and a Steinway piano.

Food for sale to benefit local charities will be available in the adjacent Jeppson Hall and also via food trucks in the church parking lot.

All of the performers for the Bach-a-than are performing gratis to benefit the charities.
