Woodworking 101 with @SheMakesThingsKnox
Thu, March 23, 2017, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
You may know Lauryl Brisson, aka SheMakesThingsKnox, from her work featured at The Hive Shoppe and the perfectly-paired wooden honeycombs throughout The Hive space. Now's your chance to learn from her about the basics of woodworking, and walk away with a completed honeycomb of your own! This class is designed for men and women who have not had much (or any at all) experience working with wood or tools. Participants will have a chance to explore their creative and practical problem-solving sides while learning about safety, design, wood, power tools and some hand tools in a supportive learning environment. All supplies will be provided for the length of the class, and each participant will design and build a 3-boxed 2ft. x 2 ft. honeycomb as pictured above.
This class is limited to fifteen participants. Participants must be 18+ and will be expected to sign a safety waiver upon arrival.
SheMakesThingsKnox repurposes locally salvaged wood to create boho-chic home goods with good ole Appalachian flair.
