Description

Are you a woman who owns land and has questions about how to care for your woods? Register today for Woodland Stewardship for Women! At this one-day informal workshop located at the beautiful Kickapoo Valley Reserve, you will spend the day connecting with other women landowners and learn how you can be an active steward of your woods. Women of all knowledge levels are welcome. Whether you are a new landowner or simply want to more actively contribute to the management of your land, this workshop is for you.

The morning will get started with informal conversation with other women landowners over coffee and breakfast snacks. Coffee and breakfast snacks will be available starting at 8:30 am. You'll also have an opportunity to explore an aerial photo and map of your land, and learn from other women landowners like you. Take a break for a locally prepared lunch provided for free at the Reserve.

After lunch, you'll be able to connect one-on-one with local natural resource professionals to get your questions answered and access resources that can help you:

  • Promote wildlife habitat
  • Manage invasive species
  • Apply for cost-share programs
  • Hire technical assistance to do work in your woods
  • Learn about upcoming events and opportunities

The workshop will wrap up with a walk in the woods led by a natural resource professional, to see examples of woodland stewardship in progress at the Reserve.
