Event description
Join us for our 12th Annual Sexual Freedom Summit in-person!

About this event

From policy to privacy, closed doors to open relationships, the white picket fence to the dungeon, this is the event where the conversations happen and the vision for the future comes to life.

Woodhull Freedom Foundation is pleased to invite you to our 12th annual Sexual Freedom Summit – the event where everything comes together in spectacular conversations about sexual rights.

At the Summit, we work toward identifying ways to expand freedom and eradicate injustice, and we put our bodies, our desires, and our personal autonomy at the core.

The Sexual Freedom Summit features human rights activists, sexuality educators and researchers, professionals from the legal and medical fields, authors, sexual freedom movement leaders, and organizational partners all working toward the time when sexual freedom is fully recognized as a fundamental human right.

This Summit is for EVERYONE interested in learning about the issues in the realm of sexual freedom, advancing their current knowledge, and gaining the tools to actually create the change we need to accomplish.

Want to see who's going, match, chat, and meet the community? Check out Woodhull’s Sexual Freedom Summit on the Bloom Community app to get a head start on connecting with fellow attendees! https://bl.ooo/m/woodhulls22.

COVID-19 Policy

Woodhull is monitoring local guidance and will adhere to all guidelines. Here is a link to the State of Virginia's COVID guidelines.

Recording/ Videotaping / Live-streaming / Facetiming Policy

Woodhull attempts to balance the desire to memorialize attendees’ time at events through photography, videotaping, and social media sharing, with the important privacy interests of some members.  We, therefore, adopt the following policies:

  1. Do not photograph, record, videotape, or live stream any images or voice recordings of attendees who wear bright green lanyards during the Summit.  This indicates that the attendee does not consent to photography, recording, or broadcasting under any circumstances.
  2. During any workshops or presentations that are being recorded or streamed, Woodhull will post a sign at the door indicating “Recording/Live-streaming in Progress” so attendees who arrive late will be made aware.
  3. We request that attendees honor anyone’s express request not to be photographed, videotaped, or recorded, during Woodhull events.
  4. Any attendee who fails to honor these policies may be asked to leave the event.

Chemical Sensitivities and Scent-Aware Space

We encourage people to be scent-free and/or low on scented products even if we can't guarantee a scent-free space.

From BUTCHVoices’ “Scent-Aware Policy”, a good resource regarding being scent-aware:

“We understand that perfumes, oils and hair products can be part of one’s gender identity, ethnic identity or spiritual practice. In addition, we understand that it may not be feasible to completely abandon your daily practices. Don’t worry, no one will be policing anybody’s use of cologne, skin, and/or hair preparations. All we ask is that, when you know you’re going to be in the communal space of the conference, you consider how using certain products could diminish someone else’s ability to enjoy the same panels or workshops that are of interest to you.”

The Hilton Mark Center Alexandria does not use scent emitting devices on a regular basis. The bathroom soaps are scented in all of the restrooms, and the Hilton does use scented cleaning products.

The hotel has been undergoing some renovations. It is possible there will be some scents lingering e.g. paint, sawdust.

No smoking is allowed inside of the hotel, however the entire outside area of the hotel grounds are fair game for cigarettes. We will also be hosting a Cigar Bar on Friday and Saturday evenings on hotel grounds. It will be outside, however, the scent of cigar smoke will be present in the area of the Cigar Bar.
