Description

Once a year, Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris releases a limited-edition whiskey as a nod to the distillery's heritage and layered history. Chris, who’s accomplishments include creating the world’s first bourbon finished in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir barrels, focused on a rich malted barley flavor profile for this year’s release – the Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Cherry Wood Smoked Barley.

To commemorate the release, Chef Bill Montagne of Nico Osteria is joining forces with Chef Ryan Pfeiffer of Blackbird for a first-ever collaborative dinner between two of One Off Hospitality Group’s flagship restaurants. Consequently, Nico will celebrate its fourth anniversary this December, while Blackbird turns 20 years old the same month.

Right before our two dinner seatings (Sunday, 12/17 and Monday, 12/18), guests will have the opportunity to attend a whiskey tasting guided by Woodford Reserve Brand Ambassador Johnny Costello and Nico Bar Manager Scott Stroemer, complete with canapés crafted by our chefs. Following the tasting, guests will enjoy Nico and Blackbird’s thoughtful five-course dinner alongside heritage and Master's Collection whiskey pairings.

Guided Whiskey Tasting: 6:30-7 p.m.

Tasting pours, each paired with a chef-selected canapé:

  • Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

  • Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

  • Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Dinner: 7 p.m.

Course one | King crab with grilled hollandaise

Course two | Foie gras terrine with smoked red seaweed dashi and mustard greens

Course three | Potato-wrapped snapper with glazed mussels and Parisian gnocchi

Course four | Quail ballotine with black trumpet mushrooms and glazed vegetables

Dessert | Chestnut-whiskey mousse, pain d'espice, orange sherbet, fresh mint and caramelized white chocolate

Tickets: $165, inclusive of dinner, drinks, taxes and gratuity
