Event description

Description

The Basic Land Navigation course is one of the basic training courses for personnel who have responsibilities to respond to a SAR incident as a field searcher. This course provides a broad overview of land navigation, use of compass (different types), pacing and distance determination and very basic topographic map information and triangulation. This course is intended for all emergency responders, including police, fire, emergency management, and parks & recreation personnel, who might be involved in a search incident during the normal course of their duties. Prior SAR training or experience is not required to successfully complete this course, however ICS-100 level is recommended. Participants will however have to be affiliated with a member agency to take this course.

You must complete entire day (classroom and field portions) in order to qualify for your certificate.
