This is a one session class running Saturday from 10:15am - 12:15pm: choose your date(s) from the drop down menu!
Have experience with the wood lathe but need a refresher? Are you a beginner and would like some guidance with a project? Or do you need some help with technique and fundamental skills? This single session guided practice will put some supervised lathe time under your belt to help you build the confidence in turning on your own and in planning your next project.
The goal of this class is to provide additional training to beginning wood turners.
Experience on the wood lathe is necessary. Students must be at least 18 years of age, and have previously completed a course with the instructor or have tested out on the lathe before attending.
A limited amount of materials will be available for purchase on the day of class, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Please email the instructor via this event (click the envelope icon) with any questions.
Students should wear shop appropriate clothes - closed-toe shoes, no dangly jewelry, or straps, and long hair should be tied back. Personal Protective equipment will be available but if students have their own, they are encouraged to bring it to wear in class.
Salvatore Mancini is a woodworker and cabinet maker. He got his start in carpentry by building theater sets, renovating homes, and restoring wooden view cameras.
