Join instructor Duane Hill, accomplished wood turner, for this two day, hands-on workshop. Learn the ins and outs of wood turning and spend the weekend working your way up to turning your very own wood bowls. Saturday will serve as an introduction to the art of wood turning and you’ll be introduced to the lathe and tools including safety and tool sharpening, wood selection, and basic rounding wood safety. Sunday will be spent on the lathes, practicing and then turning your wood bowl(s). You’ll have the opportunity to turn 1-2 bowls. Bowl design will be covered.
Note: Wood will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring you own bowl blanks (6-8” diameter and about 3-4” thick). Wood can be wet or dry. Sanding on the bowls will not be allowed.
