Event description

Description

The Mt. Lebanon Public Library and the Mt. Lebanon School District are partnering with Repair the World Pittsburgh to provide four gatherings focused on learning how to develop the capacity to make a difference in three areas that are challenges to building equitable communities:
· Supportive transitions for new immigrants
· Food Insecurity
· Education

Repair the World is a national organization that works to strengthen local service organizations through awareness, understanding, and dialogue about complex issues in our community.

Attendees will learn about local organizations and individuals that are actively making a difference addressing these challenges in our region. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with organizations and learn how to themselves become actively engaged participants.

February’s program will focus on providing support to our regions new immigrants. Participants will engage with representatives from Hello Neighbor, JFCS, SHIM, and Casa San Jose in round robin-style interactive conversations. In the final portion of the evening, the entire group will gather together and talk about how to take the next steps forward to active participation and service.

Comfort food will be provided.
