Description

The purpose of this program is to educate residents of Tippecanoe County young and old on the importance of our ecosystem and instill in them a sense of stewardship in protecting one of our most valuable natural resource, water. By educating the citizens, the hope is that they in turn will contribute to the sustainability and improvement of our world’s ecosystems.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

  • If you are a volunteer, please arrive at Fort Ouiatenon, located at 3129 S River Rd, West Lafayette, IN 47906 between 8:30-8:45 to be shuttled to Tapawingo Park for the raft launch.

What can I bring into the event?

  • It is strongly recommended that you bring extra clothes (you may get wet). A towel and dry shoes. Please leave all your extras in your vehicle at Fort Ouiatenon. Drinks will be provided at fort for lunch.

What is a volunteer? What is the value of volunteering? Is volunteering about money? Should we measure it that way?

  • Most people would say no. Volunteering is not about the money. Volunteering is about giving, contributing and helping other individuals and the community at large. It is working with others to make a meaninful contribution to a better community.
