Platfform for Young People are pleased to bring you this exciting day of professional development and we hope you enjoy every minute!

The day is a livestream event bringing together a collection of trauma informed experts to build your confidence and skills in working from this approach with young people.

The Children's Commissioner for Wales, Rocio Cifuentes will open the day and our keynote speaker is Lisa Cherry, author, researcher and leading international trainer and consultant, who will be talking about moving from knowing to doing when understanding Trauma Informed Practice

Next up is Jen Daffin (Platfform) and Rebecca Thomas (Save the Children) who will give you an overview of some ground-breaking work and insights from the system change work they are doing in Wales.

Sharing the Platfform way of working with young people will be from Siobhan Parry, Head of Young People’s Services and Claire Harrison from Worth - It will coach you on using positive psychology with the young people you work with.

Christian Webb and a panel of young people will offer professionals the opportunity to learn more about the issues facing LGBTQ+ young people whilst being introduced to some of the top things to consider when supporting them.

We will share some of our young people's stories with you and Lynne Neagle, the Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing for the Welsh Government will share her plans for the coming years.

With closing remarks from Ewan Hilton, the CEO of Platfform we’re sure you will leave the day feeling inspired and with lots of new tools and insights to enhance your understanding and abilities to support young people.
