Event description

Description

Join us for our last event in this pop up cinema from Birds Eye View and The Extraordinary Travelling Film Show in an awesome former fire station in Vauxhall Zone 1 - what better film to show than this summer's blockbuster WONDER WOMAN, plus special guest introduction from The Women's Equality Party, and popcorn/organic pizza/wine + beer to enjoy pre- and mid-show.

The venue is now called The Workshop, a temporary community space for arts and culture, on Lambeth High Street, and one of the biggest original industrial spaces in London, a former fire engine workshop.

We are showing the hit of the year, WONDER WOMAN, the biggest ever film directed by a woman, Patty Jenkins, and one of 2017's biggest global smashes (and a glass ceiling breaker to boot).

Event starts 8pm. Doors open 7pm. Tickets include a free bottle of Evian's Fruit and Plantes. Film is Cert.12, running time 2 hr 20 mins. Event ends 1040pm.

The film will be preceded by a Channel 4 Random Acts 3 min film by a woman, and then Mia Bays who runs Birds Eye View and is a film producer of 12 features/4 shorts including Oscar winners and 4 BAFTA nominees will set the scene for the evening.

We are also delighted to welcome Deborah Mason, a founder member of The Women’s Equality Party, to do an introduction for the film. The Women’s Equality Party are proud to focus on equality for women and also understand that there are many forms of inequality. WE will ensure our party and policies are informed by the views and experiences of those doubly or trebly disadvantaged, by their gender and by other factors such as ethnicity, age or disability. Deborah Mason is a multi-disciplinary artist and cultural and political activist. She is the treasurer of the Lambeth Branch of the Women's Equality Party and the Chair of What Next? Southwark.

If you come from 1900, the Migration Museum (a terrific and moving pop up museum in the same space, about the artistic response to the migration crisis) is open specially for our guests before the film starts at 8pm.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Vauxhall Train, Tube and Bus Station are 5 mins walk away and Zone 1. Parking, as it's after 630pm, will be available in nearby streets but it'll be up to you to locate those when you arrive, so arrive for 7-715pm to give yourself time to park.

What can I bring into the event?

Please make sure you have a coat or another layer in case it gets cold as it's a big industrial indoor space and will get chill for some people if the evening gets cooler outside. We will have tea/coffee/water/sweets/savoury snacks to buy. Your ticket includes a Moscow Mule mocktail (non-alcoholic). We cannot serve alcohol but we cannot stop you bringing your own.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
