Womynism Sacred Circle presents

Centering Ourselves in the Journey towards Sexual Healing & Sexual Liberation

January 14, 2017 10am-4pm

Philadelphia, PA

Registration is required.

Registration is FREE!

In our 2017 inaugural event, we used sage burning, story-telling, body and breath movement and community building to reclaim and rejuvenate our emotional and sexual self. In 2018, we continue to reclaim our narrative.

Womynism Sacred Circle is a FREE community event designed to support the sexual healing and sexual liberation of Black womyn and femme sexuality.

Womynism Sacred Circle is facilitated by sex therapists, sex educators and healers designed to support the sexuality and gender diverse Black, Indigenous, and womyn of color and femmes (BIWOC) in the pursuit of sexual healing, sexual wellness, and sexual liberation.

The Circle stresses the importance of our emotional and sexual well-being. The event is designed with healing arts & activities to engage all 5 senses and assist a womyn/womxn/women in reclaiming her/their narrative through the deconstruction of messages one has learned about intimacy, sexual behavior, attraction, relationships, personhood, gender expression and gender performance and sexual trauma.

Womynism Sacred Circle's mission is to center, affirm and celebrate our lived experience, sexuality and gender development and womyn/persoonhood in our pursuit and attainment of emotional and sexual healing and liberation.

To be clear, we are Trans-affirming. Our Trans-sisters are welcomed and supported.

To ensure the intimacy of the event and limited spacing, registration is required.

About Womynism:

Womynism is a sexological worldview inspired by Alice Walker's "womanist", Black Feminist Theory of understanding the social location of race AND gender of Black womyn & femmes as described by Patricia Hill Collins , the deconstruction of that matrix of oppression as illustrated by Kimberle Crenshaw's theory of Intersectionality, and informed by Audre Lorde's emotional insight. The "y" denotes the rejection of socially constructed ideas of gender and the politics of sexual respectability.

Womynism is an affirmative intersectional trauma-informed approach to engage Black womyn and femmes, in addition to, womyn of color and femmes in sex therapy- using transpersonal strategies like mindfulness, meditation, story-telling, breath and energy work to support their sexual healing and sexual liberation

Womynism Sacred Circle was created to provide a safer space for our sexual healing and sexual liberation to grow.

Our team of healers & sexuality freedom fighters included:
