CHOOSE A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER MENOPAUSE

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED TO BOOKINGS. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BOOK ON A SIMILAR WORKSHOP, PLEASE SEE OUR "Eating and Strengthening for the menopause and positive ageing" WORKSHOP ON SAT 11TH MAY 9am - 1pm AT THE MAY WELLNESS CENTRE, WHICH COVERS SIMILAR MATERIAL.

Want to look and feel better during and after the menopause? We can show you the natural way to manage the menopause. Our workshop has been carefully created to help participants to help themselves naturally with supportive diet and exercise plans plus expert advice, information and tips.

Background Symptoms of menopause can last anywhere from a few months to several years.  Associated problems can include weight gain, hot flushes and joint pain or stiffness. Menopause can also negatively impact mental wellbeing, concentration, sleep, energy levels and mood. Over the longer term oestrogen losses can also increase the risk of heart disease as well as osteoporosis and  reduced strength. HRT and other medical approaches may be useful for some but lifestyle changes are useful at this key life stage transition.

This workshop will explore

  • Weight gain and the menopause

  • Dietary approaches to help with hot flushes

  • Mood and food in the menopause

  • Diet and risk of post-menopausal breast cancer

  • Bone, muscle and heart health as we age

  • How and why physical activity can help manage menopausal symptoms
