This is for FIT hikers only. Up to 8 hours of physical activity first day.

Don’t miss this unbelievable WOMEN'S WILDERNESS adventure. There are only 8 SPOTS on this trip so BOOK NOW as places will fill quickly.

10 March 2018 6AM

6AM pick up at Hobart Information Centre OR 7:00AM at Mount Field Information Centre

8:30 AM Arrive at Condominium Creek for a quick safety briefing/sign waiver/snack before we hike towards High Camp Hut. The track is mostly well defined gravel steps with a few boardwalk sections. Two saddles will be crossed during the ascent to Mount Eliza, giving you a brief but welcomed break from the constant climb.

As you climb, you are relentlessly presented with amazing views each time you stop and look back towards Lake Pedder, the Frankland and Western Arthurs' Range. During these first few kilometers you gain over 700 meters, making the walk quite demanding.

Once you reach the treeline below Mt Eliza there is a side track heading to the High Camp Hut, where there is toilet and will stop for a morning tea break.

12 Noon Summit Mount Eliza and explore the plateau. Scramble and boulder hoping as you traverse a very steep scree of boulders. At the plateau the exhaustion from the climb is quickly forgotten thanks to the spectacular panoramic views past Lake Pedder. We allow an hour to have lunch and to explore the plateau towards Mount Anne, where stunning views of Lake Judd can be seen. The plateau is also home to a vast array of alpine vegetation found no-where-else in the world.

3PM Afternoon Tea swim at Scotts Peak before packing for kayaking and heading to wilderness camp on the remote beaches of the Barrier Islands.

Once packed we head out for a approximate 10km paddle and set camp for the night.
