Description

Women’s History Month Conference with ‘RhythmQuest’ African Drumming Workshop

Conference Theme:

Achieving MCAH Equity By Changing the Built Environment

Join us in honoring Women’s History Month and the significant contributions that Women - old and young, poor and rich, disabled and abled, disadvantaged and advantaged - make to the health of families, communities, the great state of California and to the union that is America. The 1st International Women’s Day was held in 1911. In 1980, after much struggle, President Carter proclaimed the week of March 8th as Women’s History Week. In 1987, the US Congress designated March as Women’s History Month and Presidents, since 1988, have issued proclamations.

This conference gathers professionals from diverse backgrounds including MCAH, family health, public health, mental health, education, fatherhood, arts and culture, injury prevention and law/public safety. The artists and presenters/panelists are an all-star cast -supported by emerging leaders – who will highlight challenges, successes and future opportunities to elevate maternal, paternal, child, adolescent and family health in diverse Southern California.
