Historic Travellers Rest, with support from The Tennessee Arts Commission, presents Women’s History Month Artisan Day on March 13, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This program will feature all women artisans and highlight the female residents of Historic Travellers Rest. Activities and artisans will include:
• Tonya Staggs demonstrating bonnet making
• Nora Glickstein demonstrating lacemaking.
• Melissa Goodwin weaving on the loom located in our Weaving House.
• Guided house tour with a special presentation on the women of Travellers Rest.
• On-site or take-home activity: hanky doll
We hope you will join us in celebrating Women’s History month at this great on-site program! Tickets can be purchased in advance for either a morning (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.) or afternoon (12 p.m. – 3 p.m.) admission. Once you have purchased a ticket for morning or afternoon, you may arrive any time during your admission window. Once you arrive, you will receive a timed ticket for a tour of the house. The house tour will be approximately one hour, and each tour will be limited to 8 people based on current Metro Nashville Public Health regulations. Before or after your house tour you will be able to enjoy the other activities, which will be spread across our grounds, at your own pace. Last admission is at 3 p.m. but guests are welcome to enjoy activities on the grounds until 4 p.m.
We encourage you to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.
Adult admission (13+) is $15, students (5 – 13) $10, Educators- $12, and children under 5 are free.
COVID Policies– Masks required, social distancing and capacity limits will be enforced. Hand sanitizer available. All shared items will be cleaned between each use according to CDC standards.
This is primarily an outdoor event, with rain plan.
